Safe Spaces for those in need
Being a victim of any type of crime is upsetting. And it’s made worse if the person committing the crime is a spouse or partner. That’s why Safe Spaces are so important in our communities. A Safe Space is just that: somewhere people in need of help and support can go and feel safe and secure.
Can you provide a Safe Space?
As part of Safer Streets, we’ve set up the Safe Space accreditation scheme. We’re really keen for local businesses, community centres and other premises to get involved and offer a Safe Space.
By joining the accreditation scheme, you’ll be helping us to keep our communities safe. We’ll give you all the training and support you need, plus resources and literature that you’re able to share with people in need of help. As an accredited space, you will provide a safe harbour and deal with victims with 100% confidentially.
