Service status: moderate delays

We are working through a backlog of new grant applications as quickly as we can, so unfortunately our standard timeframes cannot be guaranteed.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause you.

During this time:

• We will only get in touch with you if we have questions about your application, or need to ask for more information or to arrange a home visit.
• Applications submitted without the completed GP proforma will not be accepted. You will need to submit a new application. A refund will be issued to you for your original application.
• It will likely take a minimum of 25 weeks from the date of your application for us to get in touch with you.

Please note: we will deal with renewals in a timely manner and prior to expiry date, if you submit your application eight weeks in advance with all the necessary information and fully completed GP report.

If this does not apply, we will not issue an extension or temporary permit and you will need to lodge your guns, if you have not submitted on time; or we inform you that you need to lodge because of issues with your submitted application and missing information.
