Gwent Police have pledged their support to the Armed Forces Community Covenant, a government initiative aimed at promoting greater understanding and cooperation between the military and the general public.
The Armed Forces Covenant represents a promise by the nation to support service personnel and their families. It is a voluntary pledge that acknowledges and recognises that those who serve or have served in the armed forces, and their families, should be treated with fairness and respect by the communities, economy, and society they serve with their lives.
Gwent Police’s commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community has been recognised by the Armed Forces Covenant Employer Recognition Scheme.
The ERS recognises support from organisations to the armed forces community, and Gwent Police is proud to have been awarded the Employer Recognition Silver Award.
The prestigious Defence Silver ERS Award recognises employers who have actively demonstrated their support for the Armed Forces community through implementing practical policies in the workplace.
The force is one of 17 organisations in Wales to achieve the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award for 2023.
