2021/24340 - Sexual offences reported by female victims

REQUEST

In order to gather information to help ascertain if the death of Sarah Everard has affected the trust in which the female demographic have in the police when reporting sexual offences, I have decided to gather the crime recording statistics of the number of sexual offences reported to police by female victims across all police forces in Wales from May 2020 to May 2021. Along with other background research, combined with the results from this document, will help determine if the trust has been affected by the female demographic when reporting sexual offences to police.

I understand that some forces may not be able to differentiate the statistics between male and female victims. I also understand that some forces may not be able to differentiate the statistic between violent crime and sexual crime.
