REQUEST

I am writing to you under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 to request the following information:

1. The number of allegations of violence against the person made against police officers and staff employed by your force in the calendar years 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021 to date

By violence against the person, I refer to assault with injury, common assault, harassment, murder (homicide), offensive weapon, other violence, wounding, GBH and other crimes under this category.

Please break down the allegations by the following:

1. Specific offence
2. Whether the person making the allegations was a member of the public or employed by the police*
3. Gender of the person making the allegation*
4. Gender of the person accused*
5. Rank of the accused, including whether they were officers or staff*
6. Whether the accused was charged
7. Whether the accused was convicted
8. The outcome of any professional misconduct investigation

Clarification

I would like to clarify that I am referring to allegations where the alleged offender was a police officer/staff member.
