1) I would like to find out how many reports of racial abuse at football matches the force received between 1st January 2018 and 31st December 2021, and the total arrests made in connection with these - please could you share the figures in separate tables, split into each calendar year.

1) I would like to find out how many reports of racial abuse at football matches the force received between 1st January 2018 and 31st December 2021, and the total arrests made in connection with these - please could you share the figures in separate tables, split into each calendar year.
There were 2443 hate crime offences reported 01/01/2018 – 31/12/2021 with the hate strand of ‘racial’. To identify if these took place during a football match a manual trawl would need to be completed as there is no filter for this. This would be exempt on time as it would take over 18 hours to complete (2443 records x 3 minutes per record /60 = over 122 hours).
To avoid an exemption, a keyword search has been completed on the crime summaries using the term ‘football’. A manual trawl was then completed through these offences to identify any hate crime offences with the strand of ‘racial’, which took place during a professional or non-professional football match. The data requested has been provided below:

Using the data for question 1, there was 1 offence which took place online. This took place in 2021. There has been no arrest to date for this offence.
