REQUEST
- How many out of court disposals have been used in the last financial year, what percentage is this against all crimes recorded, and for what crime types?
- What providers do you use for out of court disposals, and what type of programs do they run? Are these offenders paid courses or OPCC funded?
- Do you measure victim satisfaction? If yes, how?
- Do you use restorative justice for OOCDs, if yes, how often do you use RJ?
- If recorded, do you have any reoffending data for offenders after being issued an OOCD?
RESPONSE
- How many out of court disposals have been used in the last financial year, what percentage is this against all crimes recorded, and for what crime types?
Total crime for last financial year 2021-2022 – 54,067 of which 2173 were dealt with as OOCD (45%)
- What providers do you use for out of court disposals, and what type of programs do they run? Are these offenders paid courses or OPCC funded?
Providers which are funded by OPCC in Gwent. Would be GDAS (Gwent Drug and Alcohol Service) Future4 who deliver Women’s Pathfinder Whole System Approach service, 18-25 Early Intervention Service and Revolving Door Pilot. Other OOCD service providers would be TTC for the Victim Awareness Course and Alcohol Education Course, Dyfodal who deliver the Drug Education Course, Gwent Social Services who deliver the Parenting Support service. These other OOCD are NOT funded by the OPCC
- Do you measure victim satisfaction? If yes, how?
Yes, however this is monitored by the Victim’s Hub
- Do you use restorative justice for OOCDs, if yes, how often do you use RJ?
Yes, we do but not very regularly probably about 10% of our OOCD where we would use RJ.
- If recorded, do you have any reoffending data for offenders after being issued an OOCD?
We do not collate re-offending data for OOCD at present
