How many incidents of sexual orientation, homophobic and transphobic hate crimes have been recorded by the force?

How many incidents of sexual orientation, homophobic and transphobic hate crimes have been recorded by the force?

The number of sexual orientation, homophobic and transphobic hate crimes related offences recorded that resulted in arrests or charges. Please provide a monthly breakdown if possible (with details of which strand each falls into.)

The custody data for Hate Crime is a separate data source that cannot be directly linked to the offences above.  

Instead, we have provided the outcomes to the occurrences counted above – this means that outcome of the investigation for each offence this is not the same as the total number of arrests or charges as multiple people could be arrested/charged for the same occurrence. This would be a separate figure.  

The data below is directly linked to the count above. 

Please note that outcomes are completely dependent on what the officer has inputted onto the system, it is a manual process.  

If they have not manually updated this, then the information would not have been updated and won’t be correct.

We cannot provide this data as the data belongs to the courts who issue the convictions. The number of convictions can be obtained from the courts.
