What goods the lorry was responsible for carrying
The value of goods the lorry was carrying
Clarification of what we are referring to when we say ‘lorry’:
A lorry is a large vehicle used for transporting goods by road. Lorries are also called Heavy Goods Vehicles or HGV and they weigh more than 7.5 tonnes. There are three mains types of Heavy Goods Vehicles according to the Department of Transport:
Smaller 2-Axle lorries
Bigger 2 Axle-lorries
Multi-Alex lorries
Clarification of what we are referring to when we say ‘tractor unit’ and ‘trailer’:
A ‘trailer’ is where goods are stored for transport
A ‘tractor unit’ is the part of the lorry which tows the trailer, also where the drivers sit.
