REQUEST

Request:

- Please provide a list of murders which have occurred within the past one whole year - from 12 May 2022 to 12 May 2023, with the following details:

- The name and date of birth of the deceased (or age)

- The nearest Town or City where the incident happened

- A brief circumstance of the murder/MO (The victim was stabbed to death/The victim received gunshot wounds). If the cause of death is unknown, please provide a brief circumstance of how the deceased may have been found.

(!) If the investigation is ongoing with no suspect identified, or you feel that providing the circumstances may jeopardise the investigation, please highlight this next to each entry.

Please can you provide this in the format of a word or PDF document in a simple table.

I understand your position may be that Section 38(1)(a) - Health and Safety exemption applies. The majority of these murders will have been reported on in the public domain and/or be actively within the courts process, which is public. I do not feel that simply disclosing the fact that these individuals are deceased, their age, and the very brief circumstance is going to endanger anyone’s mental health. However, if there are particularly sensitive cases that do not appear in the media or online, I'm happy for these to be excluded - but please explain how many of these cases are excluded and why.
