2025 28874 Malicious Communications arrests

REQUEST

Dear FOI Officer,

I am writing to request the following information under the Freedom of Information Act 2000.
For each of the years 2019, 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025 to date, please provide:
1. The number of individuals arrested under:

o Section 1 of the Malicious Communications Act 1988
o Section 127 of the Communications Act 2003
o Offences created by the Online Safety Act 2023 (including but not limited to cyberflashing, threatening communications, false communications, and epilepsy trolling offences)

2.Where available, please also provide the outcome of these arrests (e.g. charged, cautioned, released with no further action).
